The Bayou Writers Guild held their monthly meeting which I attended The first part was ideas, events upcoming, and news. The second part was a science fiction author speaking about the 10 worst mistakes in sci-fi writing.
I agree on all counts with him. Sci-fi novels, like every novel, needs to be thought through and explained. Technical things need not be trivialized and reader comprehension cannot be taken for granted.
